Community View was installed in September of 2024.

“Community View” plans to unite the community of Stone House Farm and Inn and Perry County, PA with the world. The project will be a mix of local eyes and those from farther afield.  Even though the two groups may never meet in person they will be represented together through “Community View”.

Participants will send me images of their eyes, both open and closed. Those images will be uploaded to the Community Views web page and drawn on porcelain tablets that will be installed at Stone Farm this year. The tablets will stay at the farm and interact with visitors and nature over time.

We are no longer looking for participants. Please join us for the opening
September 14th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Stone House Farm and Inn

And check this page for images of participants and tablets.

Stone house Farm and Inn (2 Stone House Road, Elliottsburg, PA) is run by Hempfield Behavorial Health Inc,, the leading provider of evidence-based behavioral health prevention and treatment services in central Pennsylvania. Their mission is to take proven programs for the prevention or treatment of child abuse, delinquency, youth violence, school failure and mental illness, and intellectual and developmental disabilities and implement them under actual community-based conditions.
The staff that you will find cleaning the Inn, making up rooms and setting out coffee and other treats are learning how to be inn-keepers. This is an active farm with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities that work daily with our livestock, agriculture, and the Inn. They take great pride in making your stay as comfortable as possible. By staying at the Inn guests increase opportunity for inn-keepers to make interesting acquaintances, learn about new places, become more proficient at hospitality and housekeeping, and share their enthusiasm and knowledge about Stone House Farm & Inn.

This project is supported by a grant from Stone House Farm and Inn in partnership with Perry County Council of the Arts. The project is made possible by “Arts for All” an initiative of the Greater Harrisburg Community Foundation, a regional foundation of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities.
